Recycling Plastic Grocery Bags with Trex
Sandlapper was able to recycle 191 pounds of plastic grocery bags. We came in 3rd in our region. We will receive a bird house made out of recycled plastic bags from Trex!
Shoes 4 Water Final Update
Sandlapper students and faculty collected shoes for 7 weeks! Our grand total was 2,146 pairs of shoes. These shoes will be "up cycled" to bring water systems to remote villages in Kenya through Shoes 4 Water. Sandlapper has inspired several other schools in Richland Two to create their own Shoes 4 Water campaign. Wouldn't it be wonderful if there was a district wide Shoes 4 Water competition next year???? Here are a few pictures from some of our incentive events we held throughout our collection!
